This policy applies to the website saveliny.com and the “Saveliny” app for Android and iOS.

2. In short

Saveliny works without an account and without a cloud. Your expenses, budgets, subscriptions, balances and settings are stored only on your device. We do not receive this data. There is no advertising and no tracking, and we have not built any analytics tools of our own into the app or this website. The only exception is technical diagnostic data that Google ML Kit sends to Google for receipt recognition (see below).

3. Website

Hosting via Cloudflare. This website is served via Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit it, Cloudflare processes technically necessary data such as IP address, date and time, the page requested, and browser and system information in order to deliver the site and protect it against attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and stable delivery (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; EU standard contractual clauses also apply (Art. 45, 46 GDPR). We have concluded a data processing agreement with Cloudflare.

No cookies, no external content. This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics services and loads no fonts or scripts from third parties.

Contact by e-mail. If you write to us, we process your message and e-mail address to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). We delete the data once the request has been dealt with and no statutory retention obligations apply.

4. The “Saveliny” app

Local storage. All entries are kept in a database on your device. You can remove them at any time under Settings → “Delete all data”, export them as CSV or save them as a backup file for a new phone. You decide where that file goes (e.g. Google Drive, iCloud, e-mail); we do not receive it. They are also deleted when you uninstall the app. Whether your operating system includes app data in a personal device backup (e.g. Google or iCloud backup) depends on your device settings; we have no access to it.

Microphone and speech recognition. Only when you speak an expense does the app use your operating system’s speech recognition (Google on Android, Apple on iOS). Depending on device and settings, the audio may be processed by that provider under its own privacy policy (Google, Apple). The app does not store audio recordings and does not send them to us.

Camera and receipt scan. To scan, the app opens the document scanner of Google Play services; the app itself has no camera permission. Receipts are recognised on the device with Google ML Kit. The app does not upload images or store them permanently. ML Kit and Google Play services may send technical usage and diagnostic data (e.g. device information, performance metrics) to Google.

Exchange rates. At most twice a day the app fetches current rates from open.er-api.com (ExchangeRate-API). Only the currency code is sent; as with any internet connection, the server sees your IP address. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (providing the feature).

Optional AI model. Only if you download it in the settings does the app fetch a language model once from huggingface.co (Hugging Face, Inc., USA). The server sees your IP address. The model then runs entirely on your device.

Purchase and trial. The app can be used free of charge for 7 days; after that a one-time in-app purchase is required. Payment and processing are handled exclusively by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their terms and privacy policies. We do not receive payment data, your name or e-mail address – the app only receives confirmation of whether the purchase exists. The trial start and purchase status are stored locally on the device.

Permissions. Microphone (voice input), internet and network state (exchange rates, optional AI model, purchase), in-app purchase via Google Play and background download (so the optional AI model finishes downloading while the screen is off). The app has no camera, location, contacts or storage permission. You can revoke permissions at any time in the system settings; the other features remain usable.

Widget. If you place the Saveliny widget on your home screen, it shows today’s and this month’s spending and your latest entry – visible to anyone who can see your home screen. You can remove the widget at any time.

Children. The app is not directed at children under 16.

5. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Just write to the e-mail address above. Since the app data is only on your device, you can view, export and delete it there yourself.

You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the one responsible for your place of residence or for our registered office.

6. Changes

We update this policy when the app, the website or the law changes. The version published here applies.
